INTRODUCTION
|
Envisioned to become the largest collection of Upcoming Events Serving Africa - these events would include conferencing, exhibitions, workshops, seminars, training, festivals, sport and any other event serving Africa. From a local perspective, knowing what events are happening, in any given community across the continent, will enhance and encourage local support for these events. This project, aptly called Upcoming Events Serving Africa, uses a uniquely designed and very user-friendly MySQL database for the capturing and dissemination of this valuable information. This collective database of events throughout Africa will be made available to the public via easy access search options such as mobile phones via SMS; the Internet; latest touch-screen technology in shopping malls; call centres; information centres; community centres; government offices and any other medium available. In order to ensure the widest possible reach, the Upcoming Events Serving Africa project recognises the value of Community Information Services and will make this information available to business associations that serves community development. The project therefore provides local listing service providers with a useful link from the Upcoming Events Serving Africa database, free of charge. The Foundation for the Development of Africa, via the I Support ‘My Community Development’ project, offers local governments a ready-to-use, dedicated, local ‘my community’ events, which includes a feature allowing members of the community to list their events. Local governments and local listing service providers are welcome to submit their detail to The Foundation for the Development of Africa for inclusion within the Upcoming Events Serving Africa database. Communities are encouraged to list their events to ensure these events are visible not only to other African businesses and entrepreneurs, but also to the growing number of global investors and corporations investigating the opportunities on the continent. |

THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA
THIS

"MADE IN AFRICA - FOR AFRICA"
THE
FOUNDATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AFRICA
is a private,
'not-for-profit', non-membership, organisation actively serving Africa
by promoting processes conducive to sustainable development
......throughout Africa - with the emphasis on sustainability!
This organisation is currently rated as one of the most proactive
Sustainable Business Development Organisations in Africa!
Serving Africa since 1999.
We are
actively involved with promoting the
AFRICAN RENEWAL
PROGRAMME
However
-
We firmly believe that sustainable development is a process that must
start from within - Africa needs to "partner" with herself first!
We also prefer the phrase: "Lets create wealth" rather than "Lets
alleviate poverty"
Our initiatives include enabler 'showcasing'; networking opportunities;
business opportunities; investment opportunities; promotion of special
projects; dissemination of business information; joint venture
initiatives and a range of value added services - all to serve
AFRICA!
We
facilitate processes, including networking sessions that would lead
to sustainable development, hence our motto:
"Nothing is as
‘powerful’ as the Human Network"
"Sustainable Development is the action and/or act of bringing people and/or processes into position for the effective use in the support and/or delivery of efforts, conducts and the cause!"
All our efforts are privately funded!
